William McPherson Allen
William McPherson Allen (born September 1, 1900 in Lolo , Montana , † October 29, 1985 in Seattle ) was an American businessman. From September 1945 to April 1968 Allen was president of the aircraft manufacturer Boeing . It is thanks to him that the Boeing Group successfully switched from fan guns to jet aircraft . Allen was responsible for the successful development and marketing of the Boeing 747 .
