WinSCP ( Win dows S ecure C o p y ) is a free SFTP - and FTP - Client - Software for Windows. WinSCP copies files between local and remote computers using various protocols: FTP , FTPS , SCP , SFTP , WebDAV or S3 . Depending on their preference, the user has a graphical user interface that is similar to either Norton Commander or Windows Explorer . In addition, experienced users can automate the entire functionality of WinSCP with .NET assembly or simple batch scripting.
WinSCP is programmed in C ++ and is under the GNU General Public License , making it free software . The SSH and SCP program code is based on PuTTY , the FTP program code is based on FileZilla .
In addition, there is WinSCP as a plug-in for the file managers Altap Salamander and FAR Manager . The NetBox plug-in, which has been expanded to include WebDAV , is developed based on the FAR plug-in .
