Winifred Hyson

Winifred Hyson (* 1925 in Schenectady , New York ) is an American composer and music teacher.

Hyson studied physics at Harvard University . She was a piano student of Evelyn Swarthout Hayes and Roy Hamlin Johnson and received a Certificate in Music Theory and Composition and a Lifetime Master Teacher Certificate in Piano from the Music Teachers National Association . In addition to numerous piano works, she mainly composed vocal music, including songs, choral works and the musical Ladies First: Songs, Rhymes and Times of the President's Wives .
