With the IX. In the 2006 Winter Paralympics , a wheelchair curling competition was held. Eight mixed curling teams take part in the tournament. The competitions took place between March 12th and 18th, 2006. The venue was the Pinerolo Palaghiaccio in Pinerolo , 50 kilometers southwest of Turin .

The tournament will be played in two phases. In the first phase, each team competes against each of the seven other teams in the round robin system. The four teams with the highest points qualify for the semi-finals. If one or more teams are tied at the end of the preliminary round, playoffs will be played.

The winners of the two semi-final matches determine the Olympic champion in the final, the two losing semi-finalists the winner of the bronze medal.
