The winter triangle, below Sirius, above left Prokyon and above right Betelgeuse.

The winter triangle is the constellation of the three bright stars Sirius , Prokyon and Betelgeuse in the form of an equilateral triangle that is visible in the northern hemisphere in winter . It connects the constellations Big Dog , Little Dog and the striking Orion .
