Winwick (Cambridgeshire)
Winwick is a village and parish ( civil parish ) about 20 km southwest of the city of Peterborough in Central England. Winwick is historically part of the county of Huntingdonshire , which was incorporated into the county of Cambridgeshire in 1974 as part of an administrative reform . The municipality covers an area of 692 hectares and had 202 inhabitants in 2011.
Winwick was first mentioned in 1086 as Wineuuich in the Domesday Book . Already in this cadastre it was established that part of the parish of Winwick belonged to the Harde (English hundred ) Polebrook and thus to Northamptonshire . It was not until 1888 that this corridor was added to Huntingdonshire.
The oldest walls of the parish church All Saints ( All Saints ) date from the 12th century.
The White Horse Press is based in Winwick .
