Winegrowers Guild

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A winegrowers' guild is usually an association of winegrowers , often with a sociable character. Winegrowers' guilds are usually not professional representations, but representative organizations.

A winegrower's guild is also a group of people who are not involved in viticulture, but who are interested in viticulture. They have joined together in a guild to pursue viticulture as a leisure activity. This leisure activity also fulfills a charitable purpose, namely the preservation of the cultural landscape in cases where viticulture has become unprofitable for the individual winery and as a result, vineyards are fallow.
