Scientific and practical work

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Scientific-Practical work (WPA) was a particular form of education in the 11th and 12th grade (the second half of the 11th class and first half of 12th grade) at the Extended Secondary School (EOS) in the GDR. It took place regularly fortnightly or weekly. As part of this work, pupils or small groups of pupils were given tasks that they should solve independently.

The place where the practical scientific work was carried out could also be outside the school. For example, tasks were assigned by companies.

Even after the reunification, the scientific and practical work at some schools etc. a. continued at the Wilhelm-Ostwald-Gymnasium in Leipzig.
