Witchcraft is a song by electronica band Pendulum from their number one album Immersion . It was first released on iTunes on July 16, 2010 . Witchcraft was written and produced by Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen and is 4 minutes and 12 seconds long.
background
The song was only recorded two days before the final version of the album was finalized. Swire told British tabloid The Sun that her manager said it would be her second single from her album, but that there was no melody or vocals at the time. So they said to themselves, "Ok, if this is the second single - let's get the fuck over with it." Gareth McGrillen told Noisecreep that there were 16 versions of the song and that the song was one of his favorites.

Charts
Witchcraft hit the UK charts. It rose to number 62 in the charts on June 5, 2010 and then had to leave the top 75, but on July 24, 2010 the single was able to return to number 67. In the next week, the highest ranking was achieved, 29th place. Witchcraft had stayed in the top 75 for a total of seven weeks.
criticism
The song received mostly positive reviews. Ruth Franciszka Wallbank from Red Hot Velvet , for example, gave the song four stars, Dara Hickey from Unreality Shout said that Pendulum would move away from the mainstream with “Witchcraft” because the song was too much “she”. He awarded 4.5 stars out of five. Sheryl Willis from allgigs.co.uk also awarded four stars.
