Witowski (noble family)
Witowski is the name of a Polish-German noble family that begins with Mikolaj Jastrzębiec z Witowa and belongs to the Jastrzębiec family of arms .
Mikolai Jastrzębiec z Witowa legitimized himself after his return from the Third Crusade (1188–1192) under Casimir II (1177–1194) as the Latin eques polonius (Polish knight) and lord of Witów on the Vistula , northeast of Krakow . He is the progenitor of the house Witow and was married to Aleksandra des Russki's coat of arms .
