Wivi Lönn
Olivia "Wivi" Matilda Lönn (born May 20, 1872 in Onkiniemi near Tampere , † December 27, 1966 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish architect .
Life
Lönn was the fifth Finnish woman to take an architecture exam and was the first to open her own architecture office.
The first major work was the Finnish Girls' School in Tampere in 1902. A large number of other school buildings followed in Finland. In 1906 she won the architectural competition for the main Tampere fire station, which was then built according to her plans. The New Student House in Helsinki was built in 1910 and the Estonia Theater in Tallinn in 1913 . On these buildings she worked with the architect Armas Lindgren .
A particular strength of their designs is seen in the favorably designed floor plans.
