Wiwa

The Wiwa are a Colombian indigenous people . They live on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta between the Río Barcino and Río Guamaca . They share their residential area with the Kogi in the Resguardo of Campo Alegre, Becerril . Smaller settlements can be found on the northern slope of the Sierra Nevada and another municipality in the Serranía de Perijá . The total of 1,850 people are spread over 26 communities and an area of ​​383,879 hectares. Their language belongs to the Chibcha family .
