Vladimir Jakowlewitsch Lifschitz

Wladimir Jakowlewitsch Lifschitz (born August 2, 1938 ; Russian Владимир Яковлевич Лифшиц , English transcription Vladimir Livshitz ) is a scientist, non-fiction author, coach and former badminton player from the Soviet Union .

Career

Vladimir Livshitz earned special services in building up badminton in the Soviet Union. As a player, he won two national titles, but his activities as an author, scientist and functionary are even more important. He wrote one of the first extensive publications in Russian on badminton, trained eight later masters and held high-ranking sporting offices at national and international level.
