Wladislaus Onufrowicz

Wladislaus Napoleon Sigismund Onufrowicz (* 1854 or 1856 in Jenisseisk , Siberia, † 1899 in Montreux ) was a Polish-Swiss doctor.

Onufrowicz studied medicine at the University of Zurich , where he was a student of August Forel . In 1880 he was naturalized in Switzerland. In 1887 he became Hofmann in Zurich with the work “Das barkenlose Mikrocephalengehirn; a contribution to patholog. and normal anatomy of the human. Grossbirnes “doctorate. Onufrowicz and Forel have described the so-called fronto-occipital fasciculus . His younger brother was Bronislaw Onuf-Onufrowicz , who described the so-called Onuf nucleus in the spinal cord .

In 1891 Onufrowicz married Johanna Josefa Antonia Roth von Bellach in Solothurn , daughter of Professor Peter Johann Roth-Thomann . At the founding meeting of the guild of the three kings in 1897 Onufrowicz officiated as guild caretaker.
