The Sunnegg residential tower is located in the Kirchberg district of the Kremsmünster municipality in the Kirchdorf district of Upper Austria .

history

Sunnegg was a fiefdom of the Kremsmünster Abbey . Sunnegg was first mentioned in a document on September 8, 1333. The previous owner Perchtold der Penn bequeathed the seat to Arnold the smoker, who in turn pledged it to Heinrich Alhartinger. As can be seen from a document dated June 23, 1349, the then owner Engelschalch was the Pucher. Dorothea Pucher, Engelschalch's granddaughter, brought the seat (then called the Kirchberg seat) in 1462 as a marriage property to Sigmund Vorster. The property went from the Vorstern to Jörg the Kral, who received the letter of fief from Abbot Ulrich on June 29, 1467. Sigmund Habichler, a cousin of Jeronimus Kral, bought the property on August 22nd, 1487. On April 5th, 1492 it was sold to the Kremsmünster Abbey.

In the rhyming chronicle of the Bishop of Seckau , the lords of Pettau and von Sunneck are referred to as vassals particularly loyal to Duke Friedrich .

Sunnegg today

The residential tower is still recognizable as such. But today it is connected to the former shopkeeper, as can be seen from the wall seam between the residential tower and the front building. Both houses are not on the same level. High retaining walls protect the tower from slipping.
