Wojciech Waleczek

Wojciech Waleczek (born 1980 ) is a Polish pianist, university professor at the Silesian University in Katowice.

Life

Waleczek graduated with honors from the Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice in 2003 , where he studied with Zbigniew Raubo. He completed further studies in Canada at the Vancouver Academy of Music under the direction of Lee Kum-Sing. In 2014 he obtained his doctorate and in 2017 his postdoctoral degree in art from the Bydgoszcz Music Academy.

Waleczek has received awards and grants from the Prime Minister, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Minister of Education, the Presidents of the cities of Katowice and Gliwice, the Parliament of the Silesian Voivodeship, and other private and public institutions. Apart from his concert activities, Waleczek also works as Univ.-Prof. at the Silesian University in the Institute for Musical Arts.

Wojciech Waleczek is also the deputy chairman of the SIGNUM association in Gliwice , where he is responsible for promoting classical music in Poland and abroad.

Waleczek has given concerts in Europe, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Palestine, Iran, Iraq, Algeria, Tunisia, Canada, Japan, Argentina and the United States of America.

As a soloist he has worked with many orchestras in Germany and abroad as well as with many conductors.
