Wolf and sheep
Wolf and Sheep is a traditional board game for two players. It is on a checkerboard play (chess) with 8 x 8 fields.
It is mentioned as early as 1811 in Joachim Heinrich Campe's dictionary of the German language . There is a winning method for the sheep, regardless of where the wolf starts. The game wolf and sheep is known by different names (such as wolf and dogs, fox and geese , rabbit and hunter, etc.) in different countries .
regulate
One of the players receives a black stone (the wolf), the other four white stones (the sheep). The game is only played either on the white or black fields. The stones are moved diagonally onto a free adjacent space - the sheep may only move forwards, the wolf forwards and backwards. It is neither hit nor jumped. At the beginning the wolf and the sheep stand on opposite rows and the wolf is allowed to begin.
The wolf wins the game if it reaches the opposite back row. The sheep win if they circle the wolf or press it to the edge of the board so that it can no longer move.
