Wolfgang Korall

Wolfgang Korall (* 1949 ) is a German photographer.

Career

Korall studied physics at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . He then worked as a graduate physicist and advertising photographer at Carl Zeiss Jena . This was followed by a degree in photography at the University of Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig with a degree in photography. Korall is a member of the Association of Visual Artists and a lecturer in photography. He lives in Berlin.

Artistic creation

In 1976 Korall traveled to the Caucasus for the first time, and Georgia has been his central theme ever since . From 1984 to 1988 he photographed the Swan mountain people in Svaneti . His text-illustrated book about the archaic life of the Swans and their ancient culture Svaneti - Farewell to Time was published in 1991, the illustrated book The Soul of Georgia in 2018.

Korall photographed for numerous illustrated books on behalf of the publisher; his photos are shown in national and international exhibitions.
