Wolfgang Meyer (sociologist)

Wolfgang Meyer (born June 5, 1959 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) is a German sociologist .

Life

Meyer studied sociology, political science and contemporary history at the University of Mannheim from 1982 to 1989 . In 1997 he received his doctorate from the Philosophical Faculty of the TU Chemnitz-Zwickau . Since 2002 deputy head of the CEval, Center for Evaluation at Saarland University . His habilitation took place in 2013 from the Faculty of Empirical Human Sciences at Saarbrücken University. In 2015 he was appointed Adjunct Professor at Uganda Technology at Management University (UTAMU), School of Business and Management in Kampala, Uganda. His main research areas include environmental sociology, labor market research, regional development and evaluation research. He is also one of the founding members of the Society for Evaluation (DeGEval) and is active in several international specialist organizations, particularly in the field of evaluating sustainable development and development cooperation.
