Wolfgang Schneider (military historian)

Wolfgang Schneider (* 1950 ) is a Colonel a. D. the Bundeswehr ( armored force ) and military historian .

Since the early 1970s, he has published numerous specialist articles on the technology and use of armored vehicles in all relevant German and a number of international journals. He also gives specialist lectures in the national and international field at specialist conferences and symposia and acts as a consultant.

Book publications

Since 1990 he has been editor of the standard work Tanks of the World (formerly: Taschenbuch der Panzer ) published by Bernard & Graefe-Verlag . The complete data and images of all armored vehicles in service worldwide are also available on DVD in the Tank-Data database .

In 2000 the book Panzertaktik was published, initially for the English-speaking area, and in 2008 also in German. Other works deal with the representation of historical vehicles and troop histories.
