Workflow Reference Model

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Workflow Reference Model was approved by the 1995 Workflow Management Coalition ( WfMC developed) and describes the economic computer science , the interfaces in a workflow management system . With the help of this reference model, complex systems can be put together from different modules from different manufacturers.

Essentially, it is about four (formerly five) interfaces of a workflow enactment service - the service for initiating and executing workflow engines . Interface 1 is used for the exchange of process definition ( XPDL ), 2 and 3 for the integration of workflow client applications or invoked applications , 4 for interoperability with external enactment services ( Wf-XML ) and 5 for administration and monitoring.
