Perdasdefogu is an Italian municipality in the mountains of the Salto di Quirra in Sardinia with 1825 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The municipality belongs to the Gerrei region in the Nuoro province . The area is approx. 78 km². Perdasdefogu is 600 m above sea level. One of the scenic gems of Sardinia is the nearby nature park Foresta di Montarbu , in which you can find rugged rock walls and dense holm oak forests rich in springs . Of cultural importance are the archaeological monuments in the area - two nuraghi and some sacred wells, as well as a pre-Romanesque church from 850, dedicated to St. Sebastian.

The south of the village consists of a barracks complex, in which the headquarters of the Salto di Quirra military training area is located. This also includes the rocket launch site Capo San Lorenzo on the coast. About two kilometers east of Perdasdefogu is a small airfield .

The Sardinian name Perdas de fogu (Italian pietre di fuoco ) means something like flint or burning hot stone . The inhabitants call themselves foghesi or foghesini .
