Silanus is an Italian municipality in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia , about 13 km east of Macomer near the state road SS 129 and about 40 km from Nuoro . The village at the foot of Monte Arbo has 2060 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is 432 m above sea level.

There are traces of giant graves , the Nuraghe Ortu and the fountain sanctuary di Cherchizzu. The basalt plateau south of Silanus is also rich in hard-to-find nuraghi (Corbus, Ponte, Cubas with five baityloi in the area and S'Ulivera ).
