Jerzu is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3147 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Nuoro in Sardinia . The municipality is located about 19 kilometers southwest of Tortolì and borders the province of Sud Sardegna . The northern boundary of the municipality is the Pelau . The eastern boundary of the municipality is the Strada Statale 125var Orientale Sarda from Cagliari to Palau . The Rio Quirra also has its source in the municipality .

Economy and Transport

The red wine DOC Cannonau di Sardegna Jerzu is produced in Jerzu . The Jerzu station was the terminus of the Gairo Taquisara – Jerzu railway .
