Terje Andersen (born March 4, 1952 in Tønsberg , Vestfold ) is a former Norwegian speed skater .

Andersen has specialized in the middle distance in his active career. He made his international debut in Grenoble , France at the 1973 European Speed ​​Skating All-Around Championship . He won the individual distance over 500 m, but could not qualify for the final 10,000 m. Due to the constant competition from the own team of Sten Stensen , Kay Stenshjemmet , Jan Egil Storholt and Amund Sjøbrend , he only took part in one other international all-around championship. At the World Championships in Oslo in 1975 , he finished 12th overall.

In 1976 Andersen competed at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria, over 1000 m and 1500 m. He finished 16th and 15th. Then he concentrated more on the short distances. At the four sprint world championships between 1978 and 1981, he placed three times in the top 10.

Andersen celebrated his greatest success in 1980 when he was able to win the bronze medal over the 1500 m course in Lake Placid, USA, at the Winter Olympics . Over the 1000 m he reached 12th place.

After completing his active career, Andersen remained loyal to speed skating and was President of the Norwegian Skating Federation between 1997 and 1999 and 2003 and 2007.
