World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies

The  World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies  (WAIPA) is one of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development , founded (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development / UNCTAD) non-governmental organization and acts as a forum for investment promotion agencies (Investment Promotion Agencies). It has a networking character and offers  best practice solutions for its members.

The goals of WAIPA are:

  • To promote cooperation between investment promotion agencies
  • Develop information gathering methods and facilitate the use of information through access to data
  • Share experiences of countries and regions with regard to investment subsidies
  • To provide assistance to the investment promotion agencies
  • To provide technical assistance and to promote and hold training courses and courses

The secretariat was established in Geneva in 1995 and has been in Istanbul since 2015 . WAIPA has 170+ member agencies at national and regional level from 130 countries.
