World Port Center
The World Port Center is a skyscraper in Rotterdam . The building designed by Norman Foster dates from the years 1998 to 2000. At 124 meters (133 meters including antenna), the currently ninth-tallest building in the Netherlands is an important prestige object in the Kop van Zuid urban renewal program and is located in a prominent position directly on the Nieuwe Maas opposite the Rotterdam city center between the cruise terminal , the New York Hotel and the Montevideo Tower , the tallest residential building in the Netherlands.
The World Port Center houses Havenbedrijf Rotterdam NV , the port administration of the largest European port , on half of the area . There is a blue laser beam on its roof that sends the Morse code for "WPC" in slow motion.
