Voronin's country house

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Voronin's country house or dacha Voronin ( Russian : Дача Воронина) was a regional architectural monument, located in the St. Petersburg settlement "Molodjoschnoje" ( Kurortny district ) at the address "Primorskoe Schossee 648" at the entrance of the sanatorium "Chornaya Retschka".

history

The wooden house was built according to the project of the architect Petra Petrowitscha Buka. Until recently it was assumed that the famous botanist Mikhail Stepanowitsch Voronin (1838–1903) was the owner, but it belonged to a namesake, a merchant's son. In addition, the country house was built in 1910, seven years after the scientist's death.

The house with a garden was on the shore of the Gulf of Finland . The decorative elements of the house were masterpieces of wooden architecture.

Neighbors of Voronin were the writer Leonid Andreev and his wife Eugene. Voronin's country house found its description in the story Er of L. Andreev, who lived in this house as a student.

Since 1958 the area of the villa belonged to the sanatorium "Tschornaja Retschka". The building last housed administrative services until it burned down in 1993 . However, in 2017 it was included in the Unified State Register of Cultural Heritage (Monuments of History and Culture) of the Peoples of the Russian Federation as a monument of regional architecture.
