Wulfsdorf (Scharbeutz)

Wulfsdorf is a village in the west of the large community of Scharbeutz with around 200 inhabitants (as of September 2018). It borders on the municipality of Ahrensbök .

history

In the 11th century it was settled by the Wends . In 1138 the Wends were defeated by the Saxons and Holsten. Then Westphalen and Holsten also settled there. The village is named after a knight Wulf, to whom it belonged at the time.

In 1339, Wulfsdorf, then inhabited by ten Hufnern , was sold to Bishop Heinrich II of Lübeck for 668 thalers, whereupon taxes had to be paid to Lübeck Cathedral and the Johanneskloster until the 18th century. In return, however, the farmers in Wolsdorf were replaced by the Lübeck bishops. B. protected from robber knights. As can be seen from a property appraisal from 1556, the inhabitants were wealthy at the time.

There are five farms in the village.
