Wunderwelt Magie by Jochen Zmeck is the title of one of the fundamental books on the history of magic .
It is considered to be one of the first well-researched books on the history of magic after the First World War .
content
In 1964, the professional magician Jochen Zmeck was commissioned by Henschel Verlag to write a chapter on magic that was to appear in the book The Artists, Their Work and Their Art . The chapter became so extensive that the publisher decided to devote an entire book to the subject.
So in 1965 Wunderwelt Magie came out, in which the author recorded the magic story from the beginnings to the year the book was published. The author's own experiences with the art of magic are often incorporated. Jochen Zmeck describes how great magicians (example: Kalanag ) had an effect on him and what made them so special.
The book concludes with a list of well-known magicians with brief biographical information and an extensive bibliography.
The book had a total of 7 editions.
