Jochen Zmeck

Jochen Zmeck (born May 28, 1929 in Berlin ; † May 8, 2012 ) was a German magician and non-fiction author .

Life

The trained teacher of chemistry and physics had been a professional magician since 1958 and especially in the seventies and 1980s shaped the German-speaking magic scene. He has held countless seminars, written numerous seminar booklets and brought some specialist magical books onto the market. Jochen Zmeck's "Handbook of Magic" is a basic German work on the art of magic . It is still the basis for preparation for the entrance exam in the Magic Circle of Germany . It has seen several editions, both in East and West German publishers.

Awards

In 1981 Jochen Zmeck was awarded the GDR Art Prize. In 1991 he was named Writer of the Year by the Magic Circle . Since June 14, 1996 he was also an honorary member of the Magic Circle of Germany .
