Roots & Wings is the debut album by rapper Pyranja . It was released on January 28, 2003.

History of origin

The album was originally supposed to be released on Def Jam Germany in August 2002 , but this label merged with Urban / Universal shortly before , which is why the release failed. After a long search for a new record company, the release finally took place through Dachshund Enterprise . The only single was no matter what you say , for which a video was shot. Pyranja originally recorded 30 tracks, 20 of which she put on the album. Despite the delay in the release of around a year, she decided not to change the content of the album.

In addition, she secured the rights to this. So it was possible to re-record the track “Extended Search” in a new version on the follow-up album “Women & Technology”.

The artist explained the title as follows in August 2002: “You need roots and you need wings, that's all - then everything else is included”.

On the cover you can see the artist's head in a black and white photo.

Singles

The only single was "No matter what you say", for which a video was made.
