XDR DRAM

XDR-DRAM ( English extreme data rate dynamic random access memory ) is a type of working memory that u. a. is used in the PlayStation 3 . It is based on Rambus RDRAM and competes with synchronous and DDR DRAM.

power

  • Clock rate of 400 MHz. (600 MHz, 800 MHz and 1 GHz planned)
  • Octal Data Rate (ODR): Eight data bits per clock result in 3.2 Gbit / s at 400 MHz. This corresponds to an effective clock rate of 3.2 GHz.
  • Each chip has 8 or 16 data lines. This results in 25.6 and 51.2 Gbit / s (3.2 and 6.4 GB / s) at 400 MHz.
