The Xpeng G3 is an electric compact SUV manufactured by Haima Automobile for the Chinese NEV manufacturer Xiaopeng Motors and was officially launched in 2018.

Originally presented as Xpeng Beta during the prototype phase in 2016, the name for the limited-edition first series edition in 2017 was changed to Xpeng Identity X.

The production version of the Xpeng G3 was presented during the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2018 in Las Vegas . According to Xiaopeng Motors, G3 stands for Geek3, and the name was chosen after a naming competition. The Xpeng G3 is actually the second production car, also known as the Xpeng 2.0. The XPeng 1.0 was the limited pre-series of 15 vehicles, which was produced in a first edition for founders and investors and presented as Xpeng Identity X in 2017.

As of October 2017, the output of the production model was 190 hp, which ensures a top speed of 170 km / h. The Xpeng G3 should run on a 47.6 kWh battery with a stated range of 300 kilometers (190 mi) and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.2 seconds for the front-wheel drive version and 5.8 seconds for the all-wheel drive version can be equipped. The electric motor was planned with 187 hp and is located above the front axle. The prices of the Xpeng G3 range from 227,300 to 257,300 yuan .

The long-haul model was launched in July 2019 with a larger 66.5 kWh battery and a range of 520 km. The original model was upgraded to a 50.5 kWh battery with a range of 401 kilometers (249 mi). Performance has decreased from the original version, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds and 8.6 seconds for the long range model.

Xpeng Identity X

The battery cell type of the Xpeng Identity X is a Samsung 18650 with an energy density of 152 Wh / kg. The range of the vehicle is 300 km (190 mi). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 5.8 seconds or 7.9 seconds in 2WD mode. The Xpeng Identity X motor is manufactured by Jin-Jing Electric , a Beijing- based company. The top speed of the Identity X is 170 km / h. The Identity X has a front-wheel drive, with the battery in the floor. The 4WD version, revealed later, has a second, smaller engine that sits above the rear axle.
