X-Rated Critics Organization
The X-Rated Critics Organization (abbreviation XRCO ) is an American organization of critics of pornographic films .
The XRCO was founded in 1984 to enable journalists and publishers in the porn industry to recognize the best porn films each year. The awards are presented at the XRCO Awards Show, which takes place every spring in Los Angeles . Membership in the organization takes place only on recommendation and only with special knowledge of the industry. Films are nominated for the year in which they appear. In contrast to the AVN Award Show, which is for guests and accredited journalists as part of the AVN Adult Entertainment Expojust as an event is accessible and relies on the freedom of movement of the performers, the XRCO Show only takes place for members and the nominees in a more contemplative setting. Special achievements in the porn industry are rewarded with the admission into the XRCO Hall of Fame .
