Dausfeld is a district of the city of Prüm in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate . The Dausfelder Mühle residential area also belongs to the village .

location

Dausfeld lies in the valley of the Prüm , which runs west of the village. The K 164 runs through the village. Neighboring towns are Hermespand in the north, Weinsheim in the east and Prüm in the south-west .

history

In 1939, during earthworks, fire pit graves of the Hunsrück-Eifel culture were discovered, which indicate a much earlier settlement of the area from at least the 7th century BC. Let close.

Dausfeld was first mentioned in a document in 816 as Deofansfeld . In 1291 it was named Duslet in a document . and 1379 Dausleit . At that time, Brun von Prüm, who lived in Münstereifel, sold his property in Prüm, Hermespand and Dausfeld to Jakob von Jünkerath, who lived in Prüm, with the approval of the Prüm Abbey .

On January 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality of Dausfeld was incorporated into the city of Prüm.
