Steinmehlen is a district of the city of Prüm in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Steinmehlen is located in the valley of the Mehlenbach , which flows past east of the village. The K 111 runs through the village. Neighboring villages are Weinsfeld in the south, Herscheid and Sellerich in the north, Niedermehlen in the northeast and Prüm and Niederprüm in the east . In addition, the place is in the Schneifel .

history

Stone flour is believed to have originated before 816. The village was first mentioned in 1190 as stone mills .

On January 1, 1974, the previously independent municipality of Steinmehlen was incorporated into the city of Prüm.
