Xiang Yan

Life
Not much is known about Xiang Yan's life. As his home Chu by warriors Qin's attack was, he was commander of the Chu army. He succeeded in 225 BC Beating the enemy general Li Xin and inflicting their worst defeat on the Qin. A year later, however, the opponents returned under Wang Jian . He was an experienced commander and was able to beat Xiang Yan with a trick. According to tradition, Wang Jian avoided battle several times. When the Chu then moved away, the Qin fell in their backs south of the Qi River and defeated them decisively. Xiang Yan was also killed in this skirmish. According to Sima Qian , Meng Wu killed him in a duel.
