Western Mediterranean
- Titus Manlius Torquatus is consul of the Roman Republic for the second time .
- Celtic War in Northern Italy : The Romans under Consul Quintus Fulvius Flaccus subdue the Celtic Boier and Lingons who settled on the Po ; the area up to the south bank of the Pos is thus under Roman control.
Eastern Mediterranean
- Cleomenic War : Cleomenes III. of Sparta fortifies the isthmus of Corinth against an attack by the Macedonians and their allies (Achaeans, Boeotians, Thessalians and Acarnanians) on the Peloponnese occupied by Sparta and undertakes an attack on Sicyon . But after Argos rises against the Spartan rule, Cleomenes has to withdraw from the isthmus.
- At a meeting of the Achaean League in Aigion , Antigonus III. Doson of Macedonia appointed commander in chief of the anti-spartan coalition.
Asia
- After Dasaratha's death , Samprati becomes ruler of the Maurya Empire of India .
