Philip V , King of Macedonia joins the Achaean League and declares war on the Aitolians (war of allies ).
- Hermeias, highest minister under Antiochus III. , the king of the Seleucid Empire , is executed for an alleged conspiracy. Antiochus also succeeds in defeating the troops of the rebelling satrap of Medien , Molon; Molon commits suicide.
- Achaios , opponent of Antiochus III. in Asia Minor, takes the title of king.
- Prusias I of Bithynia leads a successful campaign against Byzantion and then defeats the Galatians in his own country. At the same time, Byzantion clashes with its trade rival Rhodes .
