Meng Wu

Meng Wu († 3rd century BC ) was a Chinese officer for the King of Qin , Qin Shihuangdi .

Life

His father was the general and minister Meng Ao . Meng Wu also held positions in the military. It is known that he lived in 224/223 BC. Together with Wang Jian was deputy general in a campaign against the Chu Empire . He won a great victory there and killed the enemy commander Xiang Yan . In another attack, Meng Wu succeeded in defeating the kingdom of Chu once and for all and capturing the ruler there.

His sons Meng Tian and Meng Yi were dignitaries under the first Emperor Qin Shihuangdi .
