Xiaonan Ma
Xiaonan Ma (* 1972 ) is a Chinese mathematician who studied and teaches in France.
Ma received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Wuhan in 1993 and received his doctorate in 1998 from the University of Paris-South under Jean-Michel Bismut (Formes de torsion analytique et familles de submersions), where he also completed his habilitation in 2005 (Théorie de l 'indice local et applications). In 2001 he was appointed Chargé de Recherche of the CNRS at the Center de Mathématiques Laurent Schwartz of the École Polytechnique. In 2007 he became a professor at the University of Paris VII (Denis Diderot).
Ma was visiting scholar at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and at the Humboldt University in Berlin with Jochen Brüning . He belongs to the international faculty of the University of Cologne.
He deals with global analysis on manifolds and local indices (analytic Ray-Singer torsion, eta-forman, elliptic genera), Bergman kernel functions and geometric quantization.
In 2006, Ma and Georges Marinescu received the Ferran-Sunyer-i-Balaguer Prize for her book Holomorphic Morse inequalities and Bergman kernels and the Sophie Germain Prize in 2017 . In 2009 he became a junior member of the Institut universitaire de France. In 2010 he was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Hyderabad ( Geometric quantization on Kähler and symplectic Manifolds ).
He is editor of Science in China A (Mathematics) and the International Journal of Mathematics.
