Xote

The Xote (Portuguese, spoken: Schoti ) is a Brazilian style of music and dance in 2/4 time and belongs to the música nordestina , the music of the Brazilian northeast. It is a variant of the Scottish polka that is common in rural areas. Today it is counted among the styles of Forró . An important instrument of the Xote is the accordion ( Sanfona ).
