Model history

The motorcycle had a long-distance fuel tank with a capacity of 30 liters. A disc brake slowed down the front wheel. The rear monocross strut had 235 mm of travel. In terms of color, the Enduro was based on the desert riders of the Dakar rally by Yamaha. The French and Italian variants were available in Gauloises blue with yellow fork protectors, the German variant in white with red.

The first major change was made to the 1VJ model in 1986: the tank volume sank to 23 liters, an electric starter was installed and the output rose from 43 hp to 46 hp. Unfortunately, this model had heat problems due to the incorrectly placed oil cooler, which led to increased engine damage.

The second and last change came with the 3AJ model: for the first time, a fixed panel was installed to improve suitability for long-distance travel; In addition, there was a better cooling system with larger cooling fins on the cylinder and a deep front fender, as well as a modern rear brake disc.
