Alaska Botanical Garden
The Alaska Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in Anchorage , Alaska . The botanical garden with an area of 445,122 m² was opened in 1993 and can be visited all year round for an entrance fee.
The garden consists essentially of spruce or forest . Wild animals can often be observed on the area (for example moose and occasionally bears ).
The following crops can be found in the garden:
- 1,100 species of perennial plants , around 150 of which are native to Alaska.
- A herb garden
- A rock garden with over 350 species of alpine plants
- A wildflower trail
- The Lowenfels Family Nature Trail , a 1.8 km hiking trail
