Yamashita jump

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Yamashita ( Japanese 山下  ) is an element in gymnastics ( horse jump ).

It is a hand support jump with bending and stretching the hip in the second flight phase. The jump can be shown with a half or a full turn in both flight phases, or without a turn. The jump is named after the Japanese gymnast Haruhiro Yamashita , who first showed it in international competitions.

Depending on the turn, this jump in women's artistic gymnastics has an international level of difficulty (according to CdP ) of 2.60 to 3.40 points.

The Yamashita is a compulsory jump in the P exercise in apparatus gymnastics for women in age group 8 (P8a and P8b).
