Yaozhou

The municipality of Yaozhou ( 耀 州 区 , Yàozhōu Qū ) is a Chinese municipality in the prefecture -level city of Tongchuan in the center of Shaanxi Province . It has an area of ​​1,617 square kilometers and has a population of 300,000 (2004).

In the city district there are the stone inscriptions and sculptures of the Medicine King Mountain (药王山 石刻, Yào wáng shān shíkè ), the Confucian Temple in the Yao District (耀县 文庙, Yào xiàn wénmiào ), the Qin and Han temporal site of the Duiyu Palace (祋 祤 宫 遗址, Duìyǔ gōng yízhǐ ), the Song-temporal Yanchang Pagoda (延昌 寺塔, Yánchāng sì tǎ ), and the former Revolutionary Headquarters on the Shaanxi-Gansu border in Zhaojin (陕甘边 照 金 革命 根据地 旧址, Shǎn Gān biān zhào jīn gémìng gēnjùdì jiùzhǐ ) from 1932, which are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .
