The city of Tongchuan ( 銅川 市  /  铜川 市 , Tóngchuān Shì ) is a district-free city in the center of the Chinese province of Shaanxi . It has an area of ​​3,882 square kilometers and has a population of 847,200 (2016).

In the district of Yaozhou there are the stone inscriptions and sculptures of the Medicine King Mountain (药王山 石刻, Yào wáng shān shíkè ), the Confucian Temple in the Yao District (耀县 文庙, Yào xiàn wénmiào ), the site of the Qin and Han -timer Duiyu Palace (祋 祤 宫 遗址, Duìyǔ gōng yízhǐ ), the Song-temporal Yanchang Pagoda (延昌 寺塔, Yánchāng sì tǎ ), and the former revolutionary headquarters on the Shaanxi-Gansu border in Zhaojin (陕甘边照金革命根据地旧址, Shǎn GaN biān zhào jīn Geming gēnjùdì jiùzhǐ ) from 1932, in the district Wangyi the song time Yaozhou kiln (黄堡镇耀州窑遗址, Huángbǎozhèn yaozhou kiln yízhǐ ), and in the district Yintai the remains of the Yuhua Palace (玉华宫 遗址, Yùhuá gōng yízhǐ ) and the Song-temporal Zhongxing Pagoda (重 兴 寺塔, Zhòngxìng sì tǎ ), which, together with the pagoda of the Sheng Temple (神 德 寺塔, Shéndé sì tǎ ), are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

Administrative structure

The prefecture-level city of Tongchuan is made up of three districts and one district. These are:

  • Yintai District - 印台 区Yìntái Qū  ;
  • Yijun County - 宜君 县Yíjūn Xiàn .
