The Yarrabubba Crater is the name of the remains of a large, heavily eroded impact structure in Western Australia .

The original crater has completely eroded over time . It cannot be visually recognized either through aerial photographs or satellite images. Evidence of its existence comes from shock effects and cones of rays found in quartz rocks in the area. The diameter of the original crater is estimated to be 30 to 70 kilometers.

On the basis of uranium-lead dating on Monazite , the age of the impact structure was determined to be around 2.23 billion years (2229 ± 5 Ma). This makes Yarrabubba the oldest recognized meteorite impact structure on earth. The age falls within the measurement uncertainty with the time limitations for the youngest Paleoproterozoic glacial deposits, the Rietfontein - diamictite in South Africa, together.
