Dilger said on October 21, 2013 his resignation from the speaker Office for National Congress of the AFD on 30 November and 1 December 2013. During the Federal Congress in July 2015 he left the party when Frauke Petry when choosing for the first speaker post against Bernd Lucke prevailed . The wake-up call in 2015 did not join Dilger. With the establishment of the Dortmund District Association of the Family Party, Dilger gave up his position in the Arnsberg City Association. Dilger was elected chairman of the Dortmund district association on February 6, 2018. On June 19, 2018, he and other people were informed that the federal executive committee of the family party had subsequently vetoed their membership. A legal action against it was unsuccessful.
